How Is OmniDate Different Than Other Dating Sites?
The main difference is
OmniDate’s virtual dating component, which allows you to go on virtual dates
with other members and get to know each other before meeting in person. You can
also keep a Diary of your virtual dates, rate your dates and view a summary of
your communication with members at a glance.
How Much Does It Cost To Use the Site?
OmniDate is FREE. There are no costs whatsoever. Enjoy!
What If I Forgot My Password?
If you forget your password, you can have it emailed to you.
Simply click www.omnidate.com/PasswordRecovery.aspx and enter your email

Editing / Deleting My Profile
How Do I Optimize My Profile?
Please fill out ALL of the fields in your profile and post a recent photo of yourself. Describe yourself candidly. Optimizing your profile will increase your likelihood of meeting your match. For more information, visit Success Tips.
How Do I Edit My Profile?
To edit your profile, click on My Profile and select Edit My Profile. When completed, click on ‘Save profile’.
Can’t See My Profile In The Search?
Members cannot see their own profiles in the search. To see how your profile appears to other members, go to My Profile.
How Do I Cancel My Account?
To remove your account, go to My Account tab and select Remove My Account option.

Searching Members
How Do I View Members?
To view other members, click the Find A Date! menu tab. The default view shows members in your age group, with the most recently active members displayed first. Members who are currently online are indicated with an “online” text next to their screen name. Click on the picture or the screen name to view a more detailed profile.
How Can I Refine My Search?
You can easily modify your search by a single click:
- Online Now let’s you see all members who are currently online;
- People Near Me let’s you see members who are within the driving distance from you;
- User Search let’s you find members by their screen name;
- Custom Search let’s you refine your search by age, sex, location, screen name, etc.
What Is a Wall?
This feature, similar to the one you may have seen on Facebook, allows you to post a public message on any member’s profile. Please note that other members will be able to view this message; for private messages, use Msg Me.
What Is a Hotlist?
Hotlisting allows you to create a shortlist of other members you find most interesting. To Hotlist a particular member, click Add to Hotlist below that member’s photo. When you Hotlist a member, you have an option to automatically notify them that you are adding them to your Hotlist. Notifying the other person that you have Hotlisted them is a great way to subtly indicate your interest and to start a conversation.
To view your Hotlist, go to the My Activity tab and click on My Hotlist. To remove a particular member from your Hotlist, click Remove next to the word Hotlisted.
Can I See Who Has Hotlisted Me?
Yes, you can also view who has Hotlisted you by going to the My Activity tab and clicking Who Hotlisted Me?
Can I See Who Viewed Me?
Yes, you can see people who viewed your profile by going to the My Activity tab and clicking Who Viewed Me?

Interacting With Other Members
How Do I Contact Other Members?
There are two main ways to contact another Member. One, you can send a message by clicking Msg Me next to their image. Two, you can invite a person on a virtual date by clicking Invite Me – please note that the Invite Me button only appears when the person is online. For more information on virtual dating, visit About Virtual Dating.
How Do I Message Members?
First find a member you are interested in on the Find A Date! page. Then, simply click the Msg Me button next to the member’s image.
Can I Leave a Public Message on a Person’s Profile?
Yes, you can leave a public message on a member’s Wall. This feature, similar to the one you may have seen on Facebook, allows you to leave a posting. (Please note that other members will be able to view this message; for private messages, use Msg Me.)
How Do I Invite Someone On a Virtual Date?
You can invite any Member who is currently "Online” by clicking Invite Me next to their picture. If the Invite Me button does not appear, this person is either offline or is currently on a date - please note that the Invite Me button only appears when the person is online and available. For more information on virtual dating, visit About Virtual Dating.
How Can I Date Members Who Are Currently “Offline”?
If you wish to invite someone who is currently “Offline” or “On a Date,” you can send him/her a message (click Msg Me) and coordinate mutually suitable time. When the person comes online, the Invite Me button will be visible next to their profile and you will be able to invite him/her on a virtual date. Can I Keep a Diary?
After your virtual date, you have an option to record a personal Diary, which will serve as a reminder of your dating experience later. In the Diary you can rate the other member in terms of three characteristics – Charming, Interesting and Funny – and type personal notes (e.g., why you liked or disliked that particular member). You can view your Diary, as well as a transcript of your virtual date, at any time by going to My Activity tab and clicking My Virtual Dates.
How Do I Post on Forums?
To participate in the forums discussions, click the Forums tab and click on the discussion thread you would like to contribute to. You don’t need to log in again to read or post on a forum.
How Do I Block Members?
To block another member from seeing your profile or messaging you, click on Block This Member link in their profile. To unblock a member, click on the My Activity tab and select Members I Have Blocked. Then checkmark members you would like to unblock and click Unblock Selected.

Receiving Messages and Wall Postings
How Do I Know If I Received Messages?
When you receive new messages, the number of new messages appears in brackets next to the word My Messages. For example My Messages (2). Click on My Messages to view your messages.
How Do I Know If Someone Has Posted On My Wall?
When someone posts on your Wall, the number of new posts appears in brackets next to the word My Profile. For example My Profile (1). Click on My Profile to view postings.

Your Charm Score
What Is the Charm Score?
The "How Charming Am I?" feature lets you find out how other people perceive you after your virtual date with them. You can find out how charming, interesting or funny you really are! After you receive feedback from at least 3 members, your Charm score is automatically displayed in your profile.
Please note that, after your virtual date, you are asked to provide your feedback regarding the person you dated, which is used to calculate their Charm score – your feedback is greatly appreciated and helps maintain the integrity of our dating community. Your personal ratings are always kept private and only aggregated scores are displayed.
How Is the Charm Score Calculated?
After a member has received feedback from at least three different dates, they are automatically given a Charm score. This is calculated by averaging the ratings from all their dates; only aggregated ratings are displayed. (All individual ratings are private and members cannot see how any particular individual has rated them.)
How Do I See My Charm Score?
You can view your Charm score by clicking on My Profile. Please note that you must receive ratings from at least three OmniDate members to view your Charm score.
Get rated by going on virtual dates with other OmniDate members. To invite another member on a virtual date, simply go to Find A Date and click Invite Me next to the photo of a person you like.
What Are The Award Ribbons?
Award ribbons indicate that this person has been rated most highly by other OmniDate members and his/her charm scores fall within the top 20% of all scores.

Safety and Privacy
How Safe Is My Personal Information?
Your safety and privacy is very important to us. We will not sell any of your personal information to a third party. We will not even share your personal email address with other members – all communication between you and other OmniDate members takes place through an internal messaging system. If you have specific safety concerns, please review our Privacy Policy or email info@omnidate.com.
How Does OmniDate Deal With Spammers & Scammers?
OmniDate works hard to make sure scammers are deleted from the database. If you suspect another member is a scammer or a spammer (e.g., a member asks you for money), please report by clicking Report Abuse next to the profile or contact us immediately at support@omnidate.com; please include this person’s screen name and the reason for your suspicions.
How Does OmniDate Keep a Clean Community?
OmniDate regularly deletes profiles of members it deems inappropriate for the community. The most common reasons for removing profiles include:
- Profiles of people younger than 21 years old;
- Profiles that appear fake;
- Profiles containing inappropriate images or language;
- Profiles of users who exhibited rude, insulting or harassing behaviors;
- Profiles of users who solicited other members or were sending spam.
If you come across any such suspicious profiles, please report them by clicking Report Abuse.
How Can I Help Keep OmniDate Clean?
You can report inappropriate profiles and pictures, as well as suspicious behaviors (e.g., spamming), by clicking Report Abuse or emailing support@omnidate.com. Technical Requirements
What Are the Minimum Technical Requirements?
Our virtual dating experience is created through the use of video and animation. Any computer manufactured within the last 3 years with a high-speed Internet connection should meet our minimal technical requirements. Specifically, our min requirements are P3 processor, 512 Mb RAM, audio, and a high-speed Internet connection (e.g., Cable, DSL, etc.).
Do I Need To Install Anything To Go On a Virtual Date?
No, our virtual dating component is built in Flash and does NOT require installation of any additional software; 99% of computers have Flash players already installed.
